- The subject of the master thesis dissertation focuses on the study of ecological thought in the writings of the English poet John Clare. In the framework of this research, the analysis will question the extent in which the vision of nature in John Clare’s poetry could be perceived as pertaining to some ecological awareness. In order to study what has been referred to as the ‘vision of nature’ in John Clare’s writings, a first reflection leads us consequently to the various perspectives the different senses connected to the word nature might imply. Additionally, the fact of analysing the ecological dimension of a literary work is an approach which follows the critical stance referred to as ecocriticism.
