    • Nous vivons dans un monde empreint de catégories. Le groupe femme/homme en est une forte illustration. Cette catégorisation est due à l'imprégnation des stéréotypes de genres. Que ce soit dans la sphère familiale ou dans la sphère sociale et sociétale, les stéréotypes influencent nos comportements, nos choix, notre perception et notre représentation du monde. L'école, lieu de socialisation, qui prône l'égalité entre les filles et les garçons, développe et accentue ces stéréotypes auprès des élèves par les interactions avec les professeurs ou par les manuels scolaires utilisés. Les stéréotypes de genre peuvent expliquer ainsi les orientations et les choix des métiers des filles et des garçons, des femmes et des hommes. Ce mémoire a pour objectif assigné l’analyse de l'influence des stéréotypes de genre dans l'environnement de l'enfant sur le choix des métiers des élèves de CM1 et de CM2. Pour cela, l'outil privilégié est un questionnaire, mettant en évidence non seulement les représentations des élèves sur les métiers, mais aussi leur environnement: la couleur de leur chambre, de leurs vêtements, leurs activités extrascolaires et familiales. Au terme de ce mémoire, l'ensemble des résultats recueillis a permis de confirmer l'ancrage des stéréotypes dans l'environnement spatial de l'enfant. Cependant, il n'a pas permis d'établir un lien entre métier choisi de l'élève et stéréotypes de genre.

    • We live in a world imbued with categories. The woman/man group is a strong illustration of it. This categorization is due to the impregnation of gender stereotypes. Whether in the family environment or in the social sphere, stereotypes influence our behaviour, our choices, our perception, and our representation of the world. The school, which is a place of socialization, advocates equality between girls and boys. However, these stereotypes are developed and accentuated among students through their interactions with their teachers and the textbooks used in school. Gender stereotypes can be an explanation for the orientation and career paths chosen by girls and boys, women and men. The goal of this essay is to analyse gender stereotypes in the family environment of children and their influence on career choices in 4th and 5th grade. Therefore, I decided to use a questionnaire, which highlights not only the representation of the students regarding professions, but also their environment: the colour of their room, their clothes, their extra-curricular and family activities. To conclude this essay, the obtained results have confirmed the integration of stereotypes in the family environment of the children. Nevertheless, it did not permit to establish a direct link between the career choice of the students and the gender stereotypes.
