    • L’objectif de ce mémoire est d’observer l’apprentissage de la grammaire pour des classes d’élèves de seconde. Deux classes sont concernées par cette étude. Le cœur de cette recherche est de déterminer, s’il existe réellement une bonne façon d’aborder la grammaire.
      J’ai choisi de porter mon regard sur deux grandes approches. Tout d’abord, l’approche inductive, pour laquelle on observe un fait de langue en contexte pour ensuite, en définir les
      règles. Dans un second temps, l’approche déductive, où cette fois, on fait le choix de définir les règles pour par la suite, comprendre le fait de langue en contexte. Le fait de langue choisi est les modaux, et plus particulièrement la distinction que l’on fait entre un modal sous sa
      forme radicale et un modal sous sa forme épistémique. L’expérimentation est suivie d’un questionnaire distribué à chaque élève, dans le but de recueillir leur ressenti vis à vis de leur apprentissage de la grammaire. Il est important de noter que plus d’expérimentations auraient pu être possibles, et auraient même été souhaitables, si la situation sanitaire que nous connaissons depuis maintenant un peu plus d’un an l’avait permis. Il est malheureusement probable que cette situation ait influencé les résultats de l’expérimentation.
    • The aim of this essay is to observe the study of grammar by a class of Year 11 students. Two classes are concerned by this study. The core of this research is to determine, if there is such a thing as a good way to tackle grammar. I have decided to inquire into two major approaches.
      First of all, the inductive approach, for which one observes a linguistic structure in context so that the subject defines its rules. Then comes the deductive approach, for which, this time, the rules of the structure are defined so that the structure could then be understood in its context.
      The linguistic structure which was chosen is modals, more particularly their radical and epistemic forms. The experimentation is followed by a perception form which was given to each student, with the aim to collect data about the way they felt about their learning of grammar. It is important to note that more experimentations could have been possible, and would have been desirable if the sanitary situation that we experience for more than a year had made it possible. Unfortunately, it is likely that this situation has influenced the results of the experimentation.
