    • Ce mémoire se focalise sur deux pays de grande immigration, le Royaume-Uni et les États-Unis. Depuis les années 1990, ces deux pays ont vu le nombre d'immigrants monter en flèche. Pour faire face à cette pression migratoire, ils ont développé des systèmes de contrôle de l'immigration. Parmi eux se trouve l'expulsion des migrants non-acceptés ou non-voulus. Pour utiliser au mieux leurs ressources, les deux pays ont dû choisir des priorités dans leur politique d'immigration. Ce mémoire montrera pourquoi l'expulsion est un élément clé dans le système d'immigration et l'impact de la priorisation sur l'expulsion ainsi que les facteurs qui peuvent influencer sur ces priorités.
    • This dissertation focuses on The United Kingdom and the United States, two countries with high immigration levels. Since the 1990s, both countries have been the target of ever-increasing numbers of immigrants and in response to sharply increased migration pressures, they have sought to expand immigration control, notably through deportation. With that aim, they have had to decide how to prioritise their immigration policies according to their needs and available resources. This dissertation will demonstrate why deportation is an important part of the immigration process and vital to having control of the country. It also shows how priorisation influences the reach of deportation and the factors that influence the decision-making behind these priorities.
