L’espace de vie des sociétés préhistoriques est très souvent représenté par les structures domestiques. Leur ponctualité au sein des gisements permet de définir des processus d’occupation, de réoccupation du site et parfois d’exploitation du territoire avoisinant. Ces dernières sont très présentes dans les contextes d’habitat Mésolithique du Quercy. Cette étude consiste à inventorier et créer une typologie de ces structures, qui forment un corpus complexe scindé en différentes catégories. Le rapport entre les gisements et les structures qui leur sont associés varient selon les différentes périodes du Mésolithique. La connaissance sur ces aménagements, leurs fonctionnements et leurs fonctions permettent d’interpréter le statut des gisements au sein d’un réseau d’habitats Mésolithique, mais aussi d’appréhender l’organisation, les fonctionnements et rites sociaux des populations des derniers chasseurs collecteurs d’Europe occidentale.

Résumé

Living spaces of prehistoric societies is often represented by domestic structures. Their abundance into archaeological settlements led us to define occupation processes, reoccupation of the site and sometimes the exploitation of the surrounding environment. Those domestic structures are very numerous in the Mesolithic habitats of Quercy. This study consists of inventorying and creating a typology of these structures which form a complex corpus split into different categories. The link between archaeological site and structures varies during the different periods of the Mesolithic. The knowledge of domestic structures, their use and their functions help to interpret the status of deposits within Mesolithic habitat network, but also to apprehend the organization, the functioning and the social rituals of the last hunter-gatherers of Western Europe.
