    • Au cours de ces deux dernières années, j’ai travaillé sur la relation entre l’illustration et le graphisme. En effet, je crée des illustrations depuis mon enfance et, tout au long de ma vie, j’ai remarqué que le texte et les images sont souvent séparés dans les productions graphiques. Cela est particulièrement vrai pour les affiches de festivals, où une grande quantité de texte est utilisée pour annoncer les artistes qui se produiront. Le texte et l’illustration sont traités comme deux entités distinctes, occupant des espaces différents. Pourquoi ne pas les lier ensemble ?
      Cette observation nous questionne sur comment l’illustration devient un processus de création dans le graphisme. Nous aborderons ce thème dans un premier temps d’un point de vue historique. En effet, l’illustration a joué un rôle fondateur dans la création du design graphique. Cependant, elle est souvent discréditée en raison du temps qu’elle nécessite, la rendant incompatible avec notre société actuelle, où la rentabilité est une préoccupation majeure. L’objectif de ce mémoire est de démontrer l’intérêt de l’illustration dans le monde du design graphique. Tout d’abord, l’esquisse ou le dessin est un moyen efficace pour communiquer des idées au début d’un projet. C’est également un moyen expressif de créer, qui peut aussi apporter un caractère enchanteur à notre quotidien. De plus, le spectateur peut s’identifier aux dessins réalisés à la main en raison de l’humanité qu’ils véhiculent. Enfin, nous étudierons précisément la corrélation entre le lettrage et l’illustration, en explorant comment améliorer la fluidité et l’efficacité entre ces deux entités. Pour créer cette homogénéité, il est nécessaire de reconnaître l’importance du processus créatif. En effet, concevoir le texte et les images simultanément permet une meilleure relation entre ces deux éléments, qui viennent ainsi s’enrichir mutuellement.
    • Over the last two years, I have been working on the relation between illustration and graphism. Indeed I have been creating illustrations since I was a child and throughout my life, and I have noticed that the text and pictures are often separate in graphic production. This is especially the case in festival posters, where there is a lot of text in order to announce the artists who will be performing during the festival. Text and illustration are treated as different entities, occupying different spaces. Why not link the two together ?

      It raises the question of, the way illustration became a creative process in graphic design ? In order to resolve this query, I first approached the theme from a historical point of view. Indeed illustration was the founder of graphic design. However, illustration is often discredited because of the time it takes, making it incompatible with our society and our worries about financial viability. My aim was to demonstrate the worth of illustration in the world of graphic design. First of all, sketching or drawing is a proven way to communicate ideas at the beginning of a project. It is also an expressive way to create, and can also bring wonder to our everyday life. The spectator can associate with the man-made drawings due to the humanity that it portrays. I studied closely the correlation between lettering and illustration. How the transition between text and images can be fluid, and efficient, which in turn can enrich the graphic design. In order to create this homogeneity, we need to acknowledge the importance of the creative process. Indeed, designing the text and the images simultaneously allows a better relationship between these two entities that will come to enrich each other.
