    • Le personnage enfant ou le narrateur enfant dans un texte littéraire soulève plusieurs questions complexes, à la fois sur le plan thématique et narratif – questions qui méritent d’être étudiés de près. Qu’il soit un symbole d’innocence et de pureté, un témoin de violence et de trauma, un critique social et politique ou un vecteur de mémoire et de nostalgie, l’enfant enrichit singulièrement le récit et invite à une réflexion profonde. Dans la littérature chinoise contemporaine, Mo Yan, lauréat de prix Nobel de littérature en 2012, utilise fréquemment des enfants dans ses récits. La présence marquée des enfants chez lui est un choix qui touche à la fois à sa vision artistique et à ses préoccupations sociales. Ainsi, nous nous demandons comment et pourquoi l’enfant, en tant que personnage ou narrateur, joue un rôle central dans l’œuvre de Mo Yan, et comment cette représentation reflète les tensions sociales et historiques de la Chine contemporaine ? La problématique qui guide notre analyse de l’existence de l’enfant chez Mo Yan, consiste à explorer la manière dont l’auteur se sert de cette figure pour traiter des thèmes complexes, créer une perspective unique et susciter des réactions émotionnelles chez le lecteur. Ainsi, nous avons abordé l’étude de l’enfant sous deux perspectives distinctes, d’une part, en examinant les thèmes liés au personnage enfant et d’autre part, en analysant le rôle du narrateur enfant dans les nouvelles et les romans de Mo Yan où sa présence est significative. Sont notamment étudiées : la représentation de l’enfant, y compris sa dénomination, sa typologie et ses caractéristiques physiques remarquables, l’utilisation de la perspective de l’enfant, sa voix et sa parole, enfin la perspective du lecteur.
    • The child character or child narrator in a literary text raises several complex questions, both thematically and narratively – questions that deserve close study. Whether serving as a symbol of innocence and purity, a witness to violence and trauma, a social and political critic, or a vehicle for memory and nostalgia, the child singularly enriches the narrative and invites deep reflection. In contemporary Chinese literature, Mo Yan, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2012, frequently uses children in his narratives. The prominent presence of children in his work is a choice that reflects both his artistic vision and his social concerns. Therefore, we ask how and why the child, as a character or narrator, plays a central role in Mo Yan’s work, and how this representation reflects the social and historical tensions of contemporary China. The issue guiding our analysis of the existence of the child in Mo Yan’s work is to explore how the author uses this figure to address complex themes, create a unique perspective, and elicit emotional responses from the reader. Thus, we have approached the study of the child from two distinct perspectives : on the one hand, by examining the themes related to the child character, and on the other hand, by analyzing the role of the child narrator in Mo Yan’s short stories and novels where their presence is significant. The study focuses in particular on the representation of the children, including their denomination, typology, and remarkable physical characteristics, the use of the child’s perspective, their voice and speech, and finally the reader’s perspective.
