-
This dissertation draws on a six-month internship at Capgemini Engineering within the development team of the PASS SSI project, a set of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications built on the Windchill platform and customized for Airbus's
engineering operations. It examines the role of the developer within a complex PLM maintenance process through three complementary dimensions. The first chapter establishes the industrial and technological context, presenting Capgemini, Airbus, the foundations of PLM, and the rationale behind Windchill's adoption over competing market solutions. The second chapter analyzes the software environment and development organization, covering the technical infrastructure (Linux virtual machines, Java EE, Maven, Ant), the collaboration toolchain (Git, GitLab, Jira), and the V-Model project management methodology. The third chapter addresses the modeling of business objects within Windchill, the mechanisms used to validate implementations, and the practices that sustain the maintainability of a system in active development for over ten years. The study shows that the quality of a PLM customization does not rest on any single tool or practice, but on the consistent application of a set of disciplines across every stage of the development process, from specification to long-term maintenance. - Accès au document
